Engagement Party Recap
Will and I had THE most magical time celebrating our engagement with our friends and family back home in Alabama! This part of our lives feels like a fairytale, and I feel so blessed that we were able to come together with everyone and celebrate the start of our next season of life. While I wish all of you could have been there, I put together this blog instead to share with you some of my favorite details from the day!
Getting Ready Outfit
Getting ready for the day literally felt surreal! If it felt this magical getting ready for our engagement party, I can’t even think about what it’s going to feel like on our wedding day! I had such an amazing team surrounding me to help me get ready for the day, and we truly had the most amazing photographer to help us capture the day. One of my favorite parts of my getting ready outfit were my custom Mrs. C slippers!
The Outfit
While my slip to get ready in was beautiful, nothing compares to this GORGEOUS dress I got to wear all day long! From the flowers to the bodice to the shape, I could not have picked a more perfect outfit to wear for the occasion. I love getting to wear all these adorable white dresses to my engagement events!
The Details
As soon as our guests arrived, we had this amazing sign welcoming them to the party! It was so surreal to realize that we hadn’t seen most of our friends and family since before we were engaged, so this was like a huge reunion on top of celebrating our engagement. While Will and I may be starting our new beginning, the people we have in our lives have been here forever, and we are so grateful for every single one of them!
Tell me this is not one of the most gorgeous scenes you have ever seen in your life! Will and I truly had the best time getting to walk around the area and watch it get set up right before our eyes, and it was a moment of realization to me that the party was actually about to happen. When you plan something for so long, it can feel like it’s never going to happen, but seeing those glowing L&W signs really made it sink in that the date had finally arrived!
After the welcome sign, guests were greeted by this amazing mirror with our names on it. It was truly one of the guests favorite place to take mirror selfies in which I thought was so funny! I feel like welcome signs can sometimes feel boring or not personal enough, so this mirror was the perfect fix for that!
One of my favorite things we did to remember the night through our guests eyes was have a polaroid guest book! Not only were the guests able to share encouragement or congratulations with us, but they were able to take fun or silly pictures to include with their advice. This is something I would highly recommend as it was a guest favorite and gave everyone so much joy while taking photos!
You all know I love everything to look cute and aesthetic, so I knew cans and cups were not going to photograph well. So, I thought it would be perfect to make the favors for our guests something practical for them, and the perfect fix to hide those ugly cans. Our customized koozies were a HIT, and I can’t even tell you how many people took more than one home because they loved them so much!
While the cans may have been ugly, the cups we provided were AMAZING. I love a good monogram moment, so I was obsessed with these customized cups that combined mine and Will’s initials. What I love most about these is how we were able to have extra and now I get to sip on my silly little drinks and remember one of the best nights ever!
Of course, you all know how much I love a silly little drink, so Will and I knew we wanted to have a customized cocktail option at the event. As the last couple years of our love story unfolded in New York, we decided on the Empire State of Love to best represent us and this new chapter! I love having all the cocktail options listed on this tiny mirror!
I have been obsessed with all the matchbook art I have seen on TikTok, so I thought getting customized matchboxes was another great favor to give away! I feel like so many times people give away favors that the guests really don’t want to use after they leave the party, but these matches are great (especially ahead of the holidays as people in my life love a holiday scented candle!).
One of the final details that Will and I loved was putting photographs from our engagement and our engagement photoshoot around the party in these amazing gold frames. As we looked around, we were reminded of how special this day was, and we really took in every moment with such gratitude and appreciation for the love we felt that day celebrating us!
The Guests
While we had SO many amazing details and outfits, our favorite part of the day was our guests! I have never felt so much love in my life, and words will never be able to express how thankful Will and I are for all the people that have supported us and helped us achieve our dreams. Whether it was family we’ve had forever or new friends we’d found along the way, everyone means the world to us, and we loved getting to celebrate with them!
