Nantucket Travel Blog
The end of the summer is upon us, so Sheridan and I decided to celebrate the end of the season with one last vacation: a trip to Nantucket! I have been dreaming about visiting the island for as long as I can remember, and let me tell you, it was more magical than I imagined. From delicious food, gorgeous views and the best shopping locations, I wanted to put together a blog highlighting my favorite things! Once you’re done reading, make sure to check out the Nantucket Vlog on my YouTube channel!
What I Wore
Before I even stepped foot on the sands of Nantucket, you know I had to make sure I was matching the aesthetic of the island. One of my favorite foods in the world is oysters, and I was dreaming about eating them while on the island. I AM OBSESSED with this blue gingham oyster phone case that I found, and the best part is, you get a discount when you use code LAURENX5 at checkout!
One of the first outfits I wore on the trip was this amazing pink wrap athletic dress! It was the perfect dress to wear while shopping and exploring the island. Plus, it was super lightweight, so I didn’t have to worry about getting too hot. You all LOVED this dress so much, and I feel like it photographs so well because the color is so vibrant!
Another one of my favorite looks that I wore on this trip was this stunning butter yellow top and white jeans. We all know that I am not a huge jeans girly, but there was something about the island that made white jeans just feel right. These were super comfortable and were dressy enough to wear to dinner. And you all know how much I have been LOVING butter yellow this summer, so of course, I needed to wear a yellow top on our goodbye summer trip!
You all know that I am going to dress in a way that matches the vibe of wherever I am going, and this outfit was the ideal Nantucket look. From a flowy pink striped shirt to the best white shorts I’ve ever worn, I felt like I was walking out of my Pinterest board in this look. I wore this while shopping on the island and getting some delicious snacks before dinner. It was probably one of my favorite looks that I put together!
Let’s all take a moment for how ICONIC this lobster dress is! When I posted photos in this, you guys were flooding my DMs asking where I got it from. Unfortunately, I got the dress from a gorgeous boutique on the island, but I was able to find similar ones online to share with you. This was clearly my favorite outfit of the entire trip, and it wasn’t even one that I planned! I could not have found a more perfect dress for dinner on the beach!
For our final day on the trip, I had to wear one of my favorite finds from our many shopping adventures: my pink Nantucket sweater! I had a sweater just like this on my vision board for our trip, and I could not have found a more perfect version. Once again, I wore my white shorts from Amazon, and let me just say, they are going to be a staple of my wardrobe next summer because they are perfect!
What We Did
For our first night in Nantucket, we wanted to get the full beach experience. So, we made reservations at a restaurant called Galley Beach that was directly on the water. I treated myself to a yummy limoncello spritz, and it was THE perfect summer drink. The food at this restaurant was absolutely delicious! Some of our favorites were the bigeye tuna crudo, the black angus filet mignon, and the vanilla ice cream dessert with espresso! Starting our trip off with delicious food and a gorgeous sunset was the best thing we could have done. I highly recommend it!
Let’s be honest. Sheridan and I had two priorities for our first full day on the island: getting coffee and shopping. We went to this amazing coffee shop called Handlebar and got some of the yummiest coffee in the world! I ordered an iced almond milk latte with maple syrup and toasted marshmallow syrup, and Sheridan got an iced almond milk latte with pistachio (we highly recommend both of them! I told the baristas I wanted a drink that gave off fall vibes, and boy did they deliver. I’m still thinking about that coffee to this day!
After sipping on our coffees, Sheridan and I felt energized and ready to take on a full day of shopping! Let me tell you that Nantucket has some of THE cutest shops that make it almost impossible to walk out empty handed. From big name shops like Ralph Lauren to beach boutiques like It’s A Shore Thing, there is literally something for everybody (and you’re going to want to buy everything). I walked away with Christmas ornaments, sweaters, gifts for Will, and so much more! Make sure to check out my Nantucket Haul on my TikTok!
After all of that shopping, Sheridan and I were starving. So, we stopped by a place called Provision Sandwiches and got the perfect lunch to eat on the boat dock. Of course, we needed to end our lunch with a sweet treat, so we headed over to a place called The Tavern and Gazebo. This is a must-do if you are visiting the island. I got the Gazebo Mudslide, and I wish I could have got one every single day of the trip. Not only was the drink delicious, but it was the perfect place to look out and enjoy the busy Nantucket Harbor!
I must note, that before we went to the beach, Taylor Swift announced her engagement, which made this one of the best days of the whole trip! To celebrate, Sheridan and I headed to the beach. The weather could not have been more perfect while we were there, and there was no better feeling than laying out on the sand while reading a book and listening to the ocean waves. It’s moments like these that will forever be ingrained into my memory, and I’m so glad I got to share such an amazing experience with Sheridan!
We spent a decent amount of time on the beach, but then it was time for a snack. Right behind where we were on the beach there was a restaurant called Sandbar: Jetties Beach, so Sheridan and I decided that’s where we were going to get a pre-dinner snack. Once again, it was a gorgeous place right on the water, and they served us some of the freshest shrimp I have ever had in my life. I even joked to Sheridan that it was SO fresh that the shrimp’s families didn't even know they were dead yet!
Now, it was finally the time for what I had been waiting for: oysters! We had reservations at a place called Cru, which Sheridan said was one of the most highly rated restaurants she found when researching where we should eat. So, we had high expectations going in, and they were exceeded! Of course, we started with the oysters, and they were everything I could have wanted. Plus, I tried caviar for the first time, and I absolutely loved it! Cru was probably my favorite restaurant of the entire trip.
For our third day in Nantucket, we were up bright and early to start our day with a delicious brunch. However, of course we had to start a day with a silly little drink, so we went to Lemon Press! I ordered the Matcha Gusta, which is their matcha with coconut extract, and honestly, it just tasted like straight coconut. After that, we were on our way to brunch at Brant Point Grill. We started brunch off with mandatory mimosas followed by yummy bagels and eggs. Once again, this place was right on the water, and Sheridan and I loved watching all the boats coming in and out of the harbor!
After brunch, it was time for our favorite activity again: shopping! One of my favorite shops that we saw was one called The Black Dog (all my fellow Swifties know why!). I truly can’t emphasize how many things I wanted to buy on this trip. Every store had such unique and adorable finds that I could have filled a whole new suitcase with. Vineyard Vines was one of my favorite places to shop for Will! However, to reward ourselves for not buying everything, Sheridan and I ended up at the Juice Bar where we treated ourselves to ice cream. I got butter pecan and Sher got cake batter. You could not go wrong with either of those options. SO yummy!
After spending a little part of our afternoon at the beach, Sheridan and I went back to get ready for our dinner reservation at Ventuno (after getting pre-dinner oysters by the water). If you’re looking for a dinner spot to go to, you NEED to go to Ventuno. From our burrata to our rissottos, this food was incredible. Honestly, the sea scallop risotto was probably my favorite thing that I ate during the entire trip! Afterwards, we went to The Whale Nantucket to get some after dinner drinks. Their espresso martini was to die for!
Our final day in Nantucket was full of our favorite things. We made sure to stop back at Handlebar to get the same exact drinks we got earlier in the trip because of how much we loved them! We did our last round of shopping, and I made sure to stop by Roller Rabbit so I could get their exclusive pair of Nantucket pajamas. After that, it was time to pack our bags (which were way heavier than they were when we arrived) and catch our flights back home!
Going to Nantucket has been a bucket list travel item, and I couldn’t be more happy that I got to experience it with Sheridan! I am dreaming of the next time I get to visit the island and enjoy all of my favorite things again and discover even more amazing places!
