Pageant Products You Didn’t Know You Needed

If you've been following me on social media, you know I've been focused on preparing for Miss New York! As I've been ordering products for competition weekend, I realized I have a core group of items that are my essentials for pageants that I never really thought about when I first started competing. So, I thought I would share all of my must-haves with you to help make your competition weekends less stressful and more enjoyable!

Waterboy

If there's one thing about pageant weeks, they can be LONG. During those endless days, I never prioritize my hydration (which is a huge no-no), so Waterboy packets have been my saving grace for staying hydrated! Each packet helps raise my electrolytes while tasting absolutely delicious.

Jewelry Bags

One of the biggest things I prioritize when packing for a pageant is organization. I am packing SO many things, so it's super important that I keep track of everything and make sure there's zero chance of losing it. Jewelry is the easiest thing to misplace, so I love using these jewelry bags to store my earrings, and they're super easy to label and separate by area of competition.

Earring Backs

If we're talking about losing jewelry, we have to bring up the number one thing that always goes missing: earring backs. How many times have you been called into finals and are rushing to get ready when you realize your earring backs have disappeared? This happens to me ALL the time, so I keep this box of extra earring backs on me at all times.

Alani Packets

I am someone who loves Alana, but not all hotels have fridges (or if they do, they're super small). So, to save room, I keep these Alana energy packets on hand that I can mix into water for some much-needed caffeine. These are also great alternatives if your system doesn't allow DoorDash and you can't have access to your favorite Starbucks order!

Titleholder Jacket

This may be a "duh" thing to pack for some girls, but when I started pageants, nobody told me about titleholder jackets! Rehearsals always get super cold, so it's super nice to have a jacket to keep you warm that also lets you represent your title. I am obsessed with my jacket, and I wear it when I'm getting ready and even drape it over my lap as a blanket backstage!

Tote Bag

You pack a TON of bags full of your pageant wardrobe, makeup, shoes, etc. But did you ever think to pack a bag specifically for rehearsals? I love designating one tote bag to carry that is only for rehearsals. I keep the absolute essentials inside, including Tylenol, bandaids, my Waterboy packets, a waterbottle, and anything else I might need. It's always packed and ready to go for those early morning calls!

Watch

This is a totally random item that is crucial to a successful pageant week: a watch! There are a lot of systems that do not allow phones or Apple Watches into rehearsals, so if you don't have a watch, you're going to be stressing about time ALL the time. I always pack this watch with me just to be safe, and it gives me a nice sense of security.

Slippers

If you've never competed in a pageant before, just know your feet are going to HURT during the week of the competition. I always bring slippers to wear in between rehearsals and after the show. Slippers are another essential that I keep in my designated rehearsal tote bag, and I look forward to putting them on every day!

I hope this list helped you find some pageant products that you didn't think you needed but are now happy you know to pack them! If you're interested in even more pageant content, check out the blogs below or my YouTube channel!
